Laina & Phoenix have started to smile over this past month. Again, I am trying to remember and this summer really was a blur. I do remember that Laina was for sure sleeping in her favorite spot, Rock N Play, and Phoenix was with mommy or in the swing all night. Phoenix kept grunting, and I thought it was just a "boy thing", but he went to an ENT and was diagnosed with laryngeomalacia (mild). I was very worried and concerned, but I un-swaddled him and that seemed to help. Laina, you continue to be very alert, your eyes so intense. You seem to know what we are saying, and you are more smiley than your brother. Phoenix you just started to smile, your first 1/2 smile was at Ms. Nana (Susan). It was so sweet :)
This month you grew:
Laina- 11 lbs 15 oz. & 22.75 inches
Phoenix- 12 lbs 9.5 oz & 23.25 inches (you passed up your sister this month)
Both of you were learning to roll from your stomach to your back. Also starting to find your hands. Poor Laina you have GERD, my milk is so intense still for you. You both are sleeping in your swings in the dining room.

Fayola's 5th Birthday Party
I know it is almost Feb 2017, and I am trying to catch up on 6 months of our lives. Fayola wanted a "horse pool party" and we tried our best with much help from Raya's mommy (Fayola's best friend) and Ms. Nana. As well as Grandpa Tom. The babies made an appearance and it was so nice to get out of the house for a bit.
Fayola has been such a laid back, loving, joyful little writer and artist. She loves to read, play with Kyra & LOVES the water. We love Fayola's ability to adapt and to accept change. She continues to be our "good fortune". Fayola is 37 lbs and 42 inches tall :)

Laina & Phoenix: One Month
This first month of your lives, Laina & Phoenix, was a blur to me. We arrived home 36 hours after you were born. And it felt like I lived in my bedroom, barely able to get out of there, between nursing the two of you. I also got mastitis, two weeks after you were born.
These days were some of the most difficult I've ever had with fatigue and lack of sleep. I tried all different sleeping positions, in the bed propped up, in the rock-n-play, and in the co-sleepers. Daddy slept across the house. But, it came down to Laina in the rock-n-play and Phoenix in the bed.
I don't remember much else, but that the love I felt for you both was so immense. I also remember reading a lot of the news, particularly on the upcoming Election we would be having this Fall.
How you grew your first month:
Laina-
6 days: 7 lbs 3 oz & 18.5 in
2 weeks: 8 lbs 5.5 oz & 20.5 in
1 month: 10 lbs 1 oz & 21.25 in
Phoenix-
6 days: 6 lbs 5 oz & 19.5 in
2 weeks: 7 lbs 2.5 oz & 20.5 in
1 month: 9 lbs 7 oz & 21.25 in
