Thanksgiving Break

Well I am writing a little too early, since it is Thanksgiving today still... just the beginning of the four day weekend. We didn't get to go home this holiday, I tried to make a turkey... see my artistic pictures :) Chachi... what do you think? :)

We had dinner with some friends it was a Hawaiin style dinner... it was AWESOME!! Almost everyone there today was from Hawaii or somehow closely connected. Let's just say... I ate spam & it was good :) Spam is a special treat in Hawaii, they serve it at McDonald's Spam & Eggs. I liked some noodle dishes too & Joy's husband was an ex-caterer... so let's just say we had 'da bomb (you like that slang) dinner!

Update on me & Eric, well we are doing good. The biggest event that has happened is our wait is up for our Pilgrimage to Haifa, Israel, Holy Land. We chose our dates at the end of March 2010. It is a 9-day Pilgrimage and we will be going to the Universal House of Justice in Israel, the shrine of the Bab and Baha-u-llah. It is encouraged for Baha'is to go on Pilgrimage once in their lifetime... needless to say we were on a wait list for 3 years (it was supposed to be 7 years) & we will be visiting sacred shrines and gardens to the Baha'i Faith where historic events took place with the Bab, Baha-u-llah and followers of the Faith. We are very excited we have been blessed with the opportunity to go. God willing we will be able to make it there with ease. We have not purchased airline tickets or anything yet.

I will add more to what we did this Thanksgiving Break... our weekend has only begun. We miss everyone very much. It is hard being away from everyone, especially now.

Beginning of Fall... end of summer

Well.. of course it has been forever since I have written on here. We are getting along dandy handy... we both are finally getting adjusted to our daily routines with work, dinner, working out, and spending time together.

Jen's world: I've just finished a Visceral Manipulation I course this past weekend... now I can work on the intestines and colon... all that fun stuff, and this weekend I will be finishing my NAIOMT Level 1 course... learning to perform a more efficient lumbar/thoracic/cervical scan with differential diagnosing. I am learning ton from my clinic manager (Pam), the co-owner (Michael) and my co-workers... G-dawg, Char, Ty, Deanna, Bill, Kirsten. I spend half my time with worker's comp patients and the other half working with ortho/musculoskeletal dysfunctions/injuries from ages 7-80. So... it's all good & I am just trying to get a hang of documenting.

Eric's world: He goes to work at 630AM & gets home about 5-ish... he has been a little stressed to say the least, trying to get adjusted to all the paperwork and lesson plans. Tomorrow he is getting evaluated by the principle so he has to do the big Group work lesson plan. He doesn't have a comment about his job... i just tried asking him. Some days he seems to like it more than others, he is just taking it a day at a time. He hasn't started to workout or train for another show like he would want to. He is just trying to get good sleep in... every morning he has great intentions of waking up super early... but we hit snooze for at least 30 minutes.

Seattle area: it is starting to get chilly... the falls are different here than the Midwest... it smells like pine all the time and it is still really green here. The rain season hasn't start yet... for the most part it is in the high 50's & night time it is low 40's. So altogether not bad. We went to Oregon beaches for Labor day... and Eric got to swim in the Pacific Ocean for the first time.. I opted not to dive in & we played some disc golf in Portland area.

The other weekends we went back for Anthony & Amanda's wedding & I have been taking courses during the weekends while Eric goes and plays in disc golf tournaments. We play disc golf at least once a week.

Okay that is enough for now.... sorry it has been so long. Love you guys!

Eric Got A JOB!!

Just a quick update on Eric... he turned his application in yesterday & got a call a half hour later last night. This morning he set up an interview & a half hour after the interview he got the job offer! He will be teaching 8th grade Algebra & Pre-Algebra. He is "happy happy"... that's what he said. He starts working August 13th... so no more chilaxin' at the home base by himself :) He said he won't miss it anymore... but I think he will.

Love to everyone,
JeN

Last article we moved into our new Uhaul... it was HOT that day!

We're Almost Settled In :)

Hey everyone! We are finally almost settled in and getting comfortable. I am posting some pictures from our move out here and where I work. I am working four 10 hour days with Tuesdays off... which I have to say I enjoy getting paid for working, it feels good to be graduated and working. On the weekends we have been going to all the state parks and Mt. Rainer discovering the mountains and trails. I just got a bike last week and Eric's bike is supposed to come in tomorrow. We are planning on going on a bike trip this weekend :)

Eric spends his day completing paperwork and applications for school districts to work at here in the Puyallup area. Other than that, he is discovering all the disc golf courses and relaxing A LOT! He will start working the first week of September, and is also looking to start working towards his Masters degree in Business or School Admin.

We really like the scenary with Mt. Rainer in our back yard, but we haven't been able to take any real great pics since we don't currently have a camera, only have our phones.
We also went to a Baha'i Feast a couple of weeks ago, and really enjoyed meeting some Baha'is that live near us.

But mostly we are relaxing together traveling around the area, and of course getting a lot of disc golf games in & working out.

We miss everyone dearly... it is definitely hard to be away from everyone. Love you. JeN & aarikc
Pictures are of my work, the picture with me is in Tacoma, Puget Sound... we went there after my work one day & Eric on the Rocky mountains.
We have more pictures of the area... we will add them soon.

Beginning of a new Beginning

I finally joined this sight to keep our family & friends updated with our lives...

We will be moving to Seattle at the end of June (June 20th is our projected date of departure)
I graduated finally from PT school... now I am Dr. McGowan :)

I have a job set up for me to start on June 30 @ Olympic Sports & Spine Rehab in Puyallup, WA, south of Seattle close to Mount Rainer. Eric is starting to research teaching jobs out there or possibly other job opportunities.
We mainly are moving to Seattle for advancing my career & to discover a new part of this country with its culture/people/environment & focus on building & securing the foundation of our relationship.

I will probably not write much until we get ready to move to Seattle, and then when we are there I will for sure be keeping this updated:)
Much love,
JeN
